I have always been inclined to working with my hands. In Baroda, I studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayaji Rao University and in the first few months, almost moved to the Department of Sculpture, lured by the prospect of working in clay. Eventually, after a MFA from the Hyderabad Central University and a series of fortuitous events, I found myself at Ray and Deborah’s Golden Bridge Pottery and spent three years there. Two years as a student and one, as an apprentice to Ray.
